I came here with my husband after we got married at city hall. We decided to come for a first dinner. From the food to the service it was second to none. We ordered a bottle of champagne which was sweet and delightful. Our server was very attentive, she explained the menu to us and kept our glasses full. After dinner, we closed the tab and had a couple more drinks and the bar. The bar tenders were very helpful and we felt welcomed and cozy enjoying our drinks. The server was kind enough to take our picture. We loved it here and will be coming back every year for our anniversary. We finally got around to dining at Ella Elli on a recent weeknight. So many things to like about the place - innovative menu, good cooking, pleasant booths. Overall lighting is dim, but the booths have spots shining down on the tabletop so you can see the lovely food - kudos for that. We sat in a booth, which shielded us somewhat from the ambient noise - another plus. Our server was fairly cordial, though not terribly polished. Lamb sausage pizza with rapini was very pleasant - good flavors, tender texture. Good compact choice of wines by the glass in small or full pours. Ella Elli will definitely be on our list of dinner options in the neighborhood. Really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. We walked in and it was dimly lit with a loungey fireplace areaand the booth we sat in had a wreath on the window. It was a romantic but upbeat vibe. We got a bunch of shared plates between four people. Starters: beef carpaccio, and lamb sausage pizza Sides: potatoes and Brussel sprouts Mains: white fish, lamband gnocchi dessert: panna cotta Drinks: the mezcal drink stole the show We absolutely loved the potatoesBrussels, lamb and gnocchi. Would highly recommend all of elli di online. The lamb was our favorite and the potatoes were a close second. Gnocchi was also fantastic but really rich. The only two items we wouldn't recommend again were the beef carpaccio and the panna cotta. Overall, we really elli di online this place and would come back. Would be a good place for just drinks too as the lounge was adorable. They also have a rewards program online so sign up before you go. We got to the restaurant a bit early, so we hung out in the seating area off to the right of the elli di online. A fire blazed in the open space, and a server came over promptly, asking if we'd like a drink we did. The menu is tapas-style, which suits our supper club perfectly. There's a whole section on the menu for toasts, but we skipped over these, opting to get beef carpaccio as our only starter. We gobbled it up instantly -- raw meat never tasted so delectable. On to the veggie sides and entrées: The Brussels sprouts had a fried egg on top and were delicious; the beet salad with whipped goat cheese was also a hit; the yellowtail was tasty, but be warned that you only get five small bites; the octopus was light on actual octopus and too heavy on potatoes; the chicken was tender but plain, unless you had the pearled barley and mushroom with every bite; and the lobster was a salad that worked as a palette cleanser but didn't offer much in terms of flavor. The drinks were well-crafted, the profiterole we had for dessert yummy, and the server was attentive if elli di online overly friendly. Visited with my family for a very lovely dinner. I used Reserve and added a preference for booth seating, which they kindly obliged. As noted in my previous review, I love the decor - sleek and trendy with an overarching gray palette. But first things first - as soon as we sat down, we put in an order for drinks. I got the raspberry sour, which was very good. My mom got the Hemmingway, which was a little too citrusy for my tastes but she really liked it. Next, we ordered the mushroom toast, which was delicious. And then we split the brussel sprout dish, which I'd also recommend. For the main course, my mom and I split the scallops - I thought this dish was just ok. And for dessert I ordered the pink squirrel, while my dad got the almond cake. Both were good but I've had better. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and had a sense of humor. Because we split elli di online of the meal, the final bill wasn't too crazy but the price fairly matched the experience and the food. Dined here with My friend Kevin before my big trip and we had a Grand Time. I Absolutely Adore the Decor, which was surprising to me because I don't particularly care for the grey slate palate. The large bay windows and oversized banquets made me feel like we were elli di online in our own private mansion dining room and made the dinner all the more luxurious. We were close to the front door but didn't feel any breeze from outside or any chatter from waiting patrons. For drinks, elli di online had a Hemingway Flor de Cana, Pamplemouse, Lazzaroni Maraschino, Grapefruit and the Piquant Chili infused Aperol, Deaths Door Gin, Cava, Lemon. Both were aromatic and we laughed with joy that we color-coordinated our drinks he likes bourbon and I like mezcal, so that rarely happens. The menu is meant for sharing and that was fine by us. The Charcuterie board had a unique variety of meats, cheeses, and the house-made jam and olives were my favorite. The Peas Carbonara was fragrant, crisp, and delicate- the mix of black pepper, mascarpon, prosciutto, fresh peas, and cured egg yolk flakes on top was a sculpture I happily dived into and finished quite quickly. The Heirloom tomato dish with charred watermelon, feta snow, and basil was salty-sweet heaven on a plate. Any place that has Grilled Octopus on the menu is a must try for me and the plump octopus with crispy potatoes and salsa verde was Delish. It's been a while since I had scallops, and the Scallops with summer succotash and piquillo pepper hot sauce was a good selection per our server for the final dish elli di online share. The three scallops were hefty in size and light in flavor- really soaking up the succotash and hot sauce, becoming a Wonderful Fall menu item. Kevin has the Profiteroles with French vanilla ice cream and espresso chocolate, and he enjoyed every bite. The profiteroles were light, the ice cream smooth, and the drizzled espresso chocolate was decadent. I was almost too full for dessert but I had to try the Almond cake with orange mascarpone, stone fruit and sprinkled honey. I was delighted I find the peaches firm and fresh and the cake was spongy and tasted like a cloud plucked from above : For my dessert drink I chose the Mezcal Penicillina Mezcal, Ginger Liqueur, Grapefruit Cordial, Lime and it was the Perfect Nightcap. We spent almost 3 hours dining and talking, never felt rushed or in need of anything extra. I took my husband here yesterday evening for an early birthday celebration. I made a reservation through Reserve for 5pm. We took the bus there as I wasn't sure about parking in the neighborhood. We got there about 20 minutes early and was invited to sit by the fireplace and were brought some water elli di online we were seated. First thing I noticed, besides the service, was that the place was decorated so nice with low lighting candlesnot too loud music, and a very comfortable shade of cool grey. We were told that dishes on the menu were shareable for two people and that was spot on. Here is what we ordered and our conclusions. Appetizers: smoked salmon toast cream cheese was a bit cold, salmon didn't have much of a taste, but the bread was excellent and roasted carrots super yummy with a tangy taste, maybe lemon Meal: lamb sausage pizza I didn't eat the sausage as this was more for my husband, but the pizza was good. The only thing I didn't like were the vegetable stems. Dessert: profiteroles with vanilla ice cream one of my favorite desserts, we got one for each of us, and they came with 3 for each order Drinks: hot green tea me and beer can't remember the name of it since that was for my husband One of the best things about this place was the service. Wait staff was there when we needed them. We had clean dishes and silverware after the different courses. We definitely enjoyed our evening here and would consider coming back sometime. My boyfriend and I came here for Sunday brunch on a whim after being told that the wait at Crosby's was going to be at least 30 mins. So we decided to check out Ella Elli which is right next to Crosby's and we were seated immediately. Ok let me just say that I usually hate to order avocado toasts when I'm eating out because it just seems so basic and I feel like I can make that at home but that day the avocado toast on the menu was just calling my name. My boyfriend had the eggs Benedict and he really liked it. I also ordered the red flannel hash and i wasn't feeling it. The meat just had a weird texture to it. I definitely want to check out this place for dinner. Check this place out if you're in the area. Went there Saturday night to have a drink at the bar with my wife. Asked for a Manhattan, my wife a glass of wine. No worries just add what they typically would use for a mixed drink Manhattan. Was served our drinks, wine was good, Manhattan was just average, felt flat and not chilled at all. Asked why it was so expensive and was told I asked for the high end whiskey which was not true since I never even heard of it and the wine was more than advertised. I left the restaurant feeling like I had just been robbed. Moral of the story, if you're going to upsell a drink, you may want to disclose it. Had I known I was drinking the high end whiskey, I would have chosen to have in by itself neat so I could enjoy the experience. We were able to order drinks ahead of time and sit in their lounge area while we waited. Everyone was super welcoming and accommodating. Now the thing I hate most about 'low-lit' bars and lounges is the level of music they play. Ella Elli was set elli di online a perfect volume inside where you're not pressed leaning into the personal space of your friend just to hold a casual conversation. The four of us weren't too hungry so we opted for a board as a snack alongside our drinks. It was the perfect amount for 4 people. Each item you could tell was delicately picked and sliced, our favorites were the cranberry spread and lavender infused cheese. Drinks: 5 Pink Squirrel - is the perfect dessert drink. A boozy milkshake as we called it. Perfect for someone like me who isn't a big alcohol drinker and can only take so much. Raspberry Sour - if you like the balance between milky and sour, this one is for you. I also loved it elli di online my friend did too. My friend and I spontaneously went elli di online Ella Elli for brunch this past weekend and had a lovely meal. We had no reservation so were pleased when we were able to get a seat immediately. Ella Elli is beautifully pristine with gorgeous interior decorating, just loved the vibe. Our server was friendly, prompt and courteous throughout the entire meal. I'm sure it's just a newbie problem that will get resolved over time. Host aside, the food at Ella Elli is fantastic. It was a generous portion and enjoyable with our dishes. This was delicious and loved their unique spin of having beets in the mix for some great flavors. We both agreed our dishes were divine and so much on the menu sounded fab. I truly liked Ella Elli for brunch and would elli di online to go back to try their dinner. Or to try more off the brunch menu. Beautiful decor, charming and elegant all at once. Really good scene for a girls night dinner or a date night. The carrots were really good, the cauliflower was ok, I could have done without them, the grain salad was also really delicious. The gnocchi was also quite decadant Really really enjoyed my meal here. Great place with relaxed yet hip vibe and tasty food. Of course the prices are a little steep, but that's to be expected in this neighborhood. We were having dinner before a Cubs game so we decided to eat inside because it was cool and figured we would be spending three hours of doors later. The patio did however look very cute and when we return if it is warmer we would try to sit out there. This place looks like any other hip cosmopolitan restaurant that is open in the last year or so. Gray tones, steel, Edison lamps, tall open bar showing bottles, some tucked away booths and what was most interesting were the loveseat sized leather banquette chairs that seated two at the bar. That would be a cool place to sit next time as well. The cocktails were a slight twist on classics. We tried the apricot sidecar and the gimlet. Both elli di online delicious and the cute glasses they were served in made me want to find them so I could buy them for my own. We started with the creamy mushroom toast and they did not disappoint. Have never had a combination of crème fraîche, fresh thyme and sautéed mushrooms. It is something I will definitely try at elli di online. They used king trumpet mushrooms, oyster mushrooms and enoki mushrooms. There were two toasts on the plate with at least a third of a cup, maybe more of the sautéed mushrooms with creme fraiche. The bread was a thick cut slightly tougher than brioche but very buttery, nicely toasted with great flavor. The butter lettuce and endive salad with roasted grape tomatoes and capers was good but not as great as we had hoped. A friend had ordered it several weeks ago and I was expecting a little more savory flavor out of the tomatoes. They seem to perhaps be underripe and the vinaigrette was very tart so it was just slightly out of balance with all of the capers. Our next dish was the crispy potatoes with grilled octopus and salsa elli di online. Have ordered a similar dish at many other restaurants and have to say that the portion size here was a fairly good value. Would order this again in a heartbeat. The potatoes were creamy on the inside and crispy on the edges, the octopus was elli di online grilled and tender. It was topped with pea shoots. Our less savory dish was a fettuccine with fresh peas, a hint of pepper flakes and shrimp. They say the pasta is made in house and I believe it after tasting the tender and fresh flavor of these very long and wide fettuccine noodles. There was a delicious buttery sauce and just the right amount of chili flakes to give it a little zip without being too hot. My table might want to desert so we ordered the profiterole's which was the only of the three that sounded interesting at all. There were three nice size shoe pastry puffs filled with ice cream and topped with a dark chocolate and espresso flavored sauce. The puffs had a relatively crispy edge they were not gummy and they were not dry. It made for a delicious end to a great meal. Ella Ellli exceeded my expectations. Between 5-7pm they have great happy hour specials like sangria and rose, as well as oysters and other light bites. They are a small-ish plates restaurant, and recommend 3-4 dishes per two people. The crispy prosciutto was such a nice compliment. The octopus was perfectly cooked, tender, and came with crispy potatoes. At this point, we were beyond full. Three plates were more than enough for us to share. The interior is so elegant elli di online gorgeous - you feel like you're dining in a millionaire's private airport lounge. Service was a little overbearing we got checked up on every 15 minutes and dishes were whisked off when we were still working on the last bitsand certain dish portions are small, but otherwise the entire dining experience was near perfect. An ideal spot for a range of occasions - parents in town, date night, casual catching up with friends. Cocktails are fantastic but the glasses are pretty small. Probably the tiniest glass of cocktail I've had at a restaurant. Food run-down: Cauliflower with salsa verde, lemon and shallot: not mind-blowing, but still a comforting dish of roasted cauliflowers, fragrant with a hint of tang from the lemon. Cacio e pepe: creamy, luscious spaghetti swirled in yolky, cheesy goodness, I like the generous kick of Szechuan pepper. My friends and I enjoyed trying out this place for our monthly dinner out last month. It was still a little too chilly to enjoy the patio scene out front and we were seated in a lovely booth off to the side of the front entrance we ended up asking the staff to close the front door since it was cold outside. Thankfully it wasn't too busy and we were able to be seated earlier than our reservation time while we waited for our one friend who was running a little late. Our server was super friendly and a great conversationalist. She made great drink recommendations and was able to ask the bar tender to mix up a mocktail for me since I was 38 weeks pregnant at that time. The mocktail was refreshing and not terribly sweet. We ordered 7 dishes for 3 adults and one toddler which was just the right amount of food without feeling overstuffed. The two toasts Avocado and Smoked Salmon were amazing, my favorite being the Avocado with the Everything Seasoning. They were elli di online enough to share. The Cacio e Pepe was good, but not as good as at Da Vanti's or Eataly. My favorite dish of the night was actually Ricotta Gnocchi with Truffle and Roasted Mushrooms. The mushrooms were so flavorful they actually tasted like meat to me. It beat out the beef dish and the Roasted Half Chicken. Least favorite was the Maine Lobster dish. Not enough lobster versus the grapefruit and avocado. Unable to comment on dessert as we decided to get ice cream down the street at Jeni's instead. I was looking for a place to have dinner with my daughter on a Monday night as she had recently moved into the area and I was visiting from out of town. We found Ella Elli on Yelp and decided to try it. Here is what we noticed: - It was totally booked on a Monday night, but they offered us the outdoor patio. It was a little chilly out but we asked if they would move a heater next to our table which they did. The menu has lots of different items. We started with the smoked salmon toast, then had the mushroom gnocchi, and then finished with the scallops on polenta. All were enjoyed, and the quantity was perfect for two people. Bottom line: Very nice dining spot, a bit higher end but not excessive. I would return if I lived in the area. I happened to really enjoy my visit here. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful and my four friends and I were seated in a sound-proof booth. We visited during restaurant week, and the menu was great. I thought it was seasoned liberally and the poached egg was cooked to perfection. I definitely would not have ordered this off the regular menu, so I am really glad I tried it on the prix fixe menu while it elli di online offered. It was paired with a dipping sauce of some sort that will probably bring world peace. I will say Elli di online was never asked how I wanted my burger cooked, and it came a little more raw than I anticipated. I probably should've asked for it to be cooked a little more. I am only including this in my review so people have fair warning if they prefer to have their burgers a little more well done. I would totally recommend ordering the burger. The profiteroles were so great. They were served over an espresso chocolate sauce of some sort that would probably tag team with the burger sauce to bring world peace. Basically there would be world peace if everyone ate at Ella Elli. I wish I remembered his name so I elli di online give him a shout out. Part of the restaurant seemed like it has more lounge seating, but we had a table. I would totally come back here for happy hour. I also really think it's a great spot to ride out Chicago winters. Not sure if they have a patio during the summer, but the interior is perfect when the weather elli di online cold. Ella Elli is a fantastic restaurant on the smaller side making it somewhat difficult to get into at times. The low light ambiance and rule against children makes it more of a date spot or gathering place for couples rather than a place to go with friends. We started our night with cocktails at the bar as we waited for our table. I chose the elderflower gimlet and was pleasantly surprised. While a bit on the sweeter side, the lime edge and elderflower notes made it a great drink to enjoy before our relatively large dinner. We were seated in one of the booths on the right side of the restaurant that made it a much more intimate experience as the table felt a little removed from the rest of the restaurant. Even with the booths on the left side, I feel that the seating generally partitions you off to make the reasonably active restaurant more of a calm and quiet environment for your dining, although there are a few tables in the middle of the restaurant that may not have this benefit. We switched to wine for dinner and the list was not crazy long, but definitely large enough for anyone you're with to find something they like. We shared quite a number of plates between all of us including the cheese and meat boards, steak tartare, cauliflower with salsa verde, cacio de pepe, ricotta gnocchi, tomato with burrata pizza, grilled octopus and the burger au poivre. Of the above, the key plates of note were the cacio de pepe, cauliflower, the steak tartare, and the mushrooms from the gnocchi dish. While the cheese and meat boards were okay, I think there were better options at many other restaurants in Chicago as the selection options are a bit limited and not extremely unique. The burger had a unique dipping sauce in my opinion that was delicious, but otherwise wasn't an incredible burger in my opinion. The tomato with burrata pizza elli di online into this same category in my opinion. The grilled octopus I would say was the one item I thought was a true disappointment with the octopus being quite overcooked and entirely too many potatoes that are oversized versus the other items in the dish. Still, the other items were fantastic. My recommendation remain: + Cauliflower with salsa verde - the comeback vegetable of the year ranked high in this meal for me as it was perfectly charred and the lemon and salsa verde accompaniment really made this a fantastical side dish. This was quite a simple dish, but just warm and delightful. The gnocchi was the slightly charred version of gnocchi if you like that, but the mushrooms with truffle were truly delicious. Bottom line, with good service and some great dishes in a kid-free and romantic environment, Ella Elli is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants in Chicago. Elli di online let your server know about your dietary restrictions and our team will do everything we can to get you a variety of options!.

I will say I was never asked how I wanted my burger cooked, and it came a little more raw than I anticipated. Our server was friendly, prompt and courteous throughout the entire meal.
